This initiative benefited more than 2,000 people in 2016

For the second consecutive year, MAPFRE is organizing a global activity for today to mark World Blood Donor Day, in which employees in every country where the company operates will participate. The initiative falls within MAPFRE’s corporate volunteering program, and directly helped more than 2,000 individuals in need in 2016.

MPAFRE employees in the Philippines will kick off the campaign, joined shortly afterward by their MAPFRE colleagues in China, followed by those in Europe, and so on for 24 hours, with the USA, Uruguay, Peru, Panama, El Salvador and Chile among those taking part. In Paraguay, the MAPFRE office will act as a focal point in collecting donations on behalf of the national blood program of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare.

In Spain, blood donations can be given at MAPFRE’s corporate headquarters in Majadahonda (Madrid), as well as other company locations, both in the capital and around the country, in Alicante, A Coruña, Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Málaga Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca, Sevilla, Tenerife, Valencia, Valladolid and Zaragoza.

This 24-hour blood drive underlines MAPFRE employees’ commitment to society in general, in addition to giving a much-needed boost to blood reserves, which are in great demand during the vacation period.
