Esteban Tejera appointed as Chairman of MAPFRE RE
At a meeting today, the Board of Directors of MAPFRE has appointed Adriana Casademont as member of the MAPFRE Audit Committee. Ms. Casademont has been a member of the Board of Directors of MAPFRE since March 2013.
The Board of Directors of MAPFRE also approved the appointment of Esteban Tejera as chairman of MAPFRE RE, a position occupied by Pedro de Macedo until his death last May. Tejera is currently the vice chairman of MAPFRE and the company’s most senior finance executive. He will take on the duties of chairman of MAPFRE RE in addition to carrying out his current functions, while Eduardo Pérez de Lema will continue as CEO of MAPFRE RE.

Best and Standard & Poor’s, and was ranked as fifteenth in the global reinsurance ranking published in 2015 by A.M. Best. In 2015 MAPFRE RE reached a premium volume of 3,732 billion euros, and a net result of 153 million euros.
