The objective? To provide knowledge about insurable risks to the underwriting teams, and to offer their clients high-quality technical advice.

In this video interview, César López, head of the MAPFRE GLOBAL RISKS Engineering Area, talks about the role of Risk Engineering in the field of global risk insurance, the professionals who undertake this work, how they do it and the importance of continuous training in enabling the company to provide a comprehensive response.

Interpersonal relationships, technical excellence and training are the basis for a team whose main activity is the analysis of risks on the ground all over the world, together with a technical assessment of each operation. Their objective is twofold: to provide knowledge about insurable risks to the underwriting teams, and to offer their clients high-quality technical advice.

The business unit’s team of specialists is supported on the ground, in various countries of particular importance for the Group (Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Turkey and the UK, among others), by local teams of engineers, all of whom are focused on innovation, the exchange of international best practices and a glocal strategy that combines global methods and standards with local knowledge and specificity.
