More than 500 attendees from 30 countries are gathering in Granada from today at one of the insurance world’s leading events

MAPFRE GLOBAL RISKS is holding from today (to Friday, June 9) its 25th International Conference, in which more than 500 experts from 30 countries will discuss the challenges facing the insurance industry in the current environment of economic recovery and the new opportunities opening up, with emerging businesses such as cyber risk or the use of drones, in a meeting that has become a benchmark for the international insurance sector.

The program is divided into two parallel blocks, with roundtables, speeches and presentations specifically on Insurance and Security, respectively. The agenda includes topics such as cyber risk in global companies, the application of drones to risk management, and the global model of aviation and air safety, among other things.

The conference was inaugurated this morning by the Vice Chairman of MAPFRE and CEO of MAPFRE GLOBAL RISKS, Ignacio Baeza, who emphasized the importance of knowing and recognizing the obstacles and challenges that insurers face in order to be flexible enough when providing solutions tailored to the needs of its clients.

Baeza stressed that MAPFRE GLOBAL RISKS, which is the leading global risks insurer both in Spain and Latin America, is committed to continuing to strengthen its competitive position in the coming years, especially in Europe, with a focus on profitability and searching for excellence in client focus.

The Chairman and CEO of MAPFRE, Antonio Huertas, will be in charge of closing this event, which over the course of the next few days sees Granada become the capital of the insurance industry.
