The magazine has featured MAPFRE’s Group Chief HR Officer, describing her achievements in managing more than 37,000 employees.
In this year’s special issue on influential women in the insurance and reinsurance sector, the specialized UK magazine Intelligent Insurer features an interview with Elena Sanz, member of the Executive Committee and Group Chief HR Officer of MAPFRE.
The magazine highlighted the progress made in managing more than 37,000 Group employees on five continents, the definition of the people management strategy, which is in line with that of the business, how projects are designed and implemented globally, and retaining and strengthening talent throughout the company.
During the interview, Elena Sanz answered questions on key elements that attracted her to work in the sector, her main achievements so far and her main challenges.
Some of her main achievements include her appointment as a member of MAPFRE’s Executive Committee, becoming the first female member of MAPFRE’s Executive Committee in September 2016.
One of the projects she has managed is the globalization of the Human Resources area, a key project in underpinning the global structure undertaken by the company a few years ago. Moreover, she stated that having the “most talented employees” and sharing knowledge “where and when needed” are key to the current process of change, which, in her opinion, is being driven by her area.
Digital transformation, knowledge management and cultural and generational diversity are other essential elements discussed by Elena Sanz during the interview.
