The Economic Research has prepared an overview of the 15 insurance companies with the highest premium volume in Non-Life insurance, with data from 2017

MAPFRE, in sixth position in this segment, is the fifth group in terms of growth.
Despite last year’s natural disasters, the resistance of the combined ratios of the majority of companies below 100 can be emphasized.

Ranking No vidaHurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, the two earthquakes that occurred in Mexico, and the wildfires in California negatively impacted the technical results of most groups in the Non-Life segment in 2017.
The 15 largest European groups in this segment issued 255.4 billion euros in premiums, 1.7% more, with an eminently organic rise.

MAPFRE was the company with the fifth highest growth in 2017, with a 2.6% increase in premiums (18.15 billion euros), and came sixth in the ranking.

The combined ratios of 12 of the analyzed groups remained below 100 despite the catastrophes, an aspect that is positively highlighted in the computer graphic, due to the correct risk management carried out by the insurance groups.
