The company is renewing this collaboration which has been a part of the young university students support program for four years

MAPFRE finances Fulbright scholarships for Spanish students to undertake postgraduate studies in the United States. The scholarships are for 100,000 euros per student over two years and are granted to Spanish University students after an exhaustive selection process, enabling them to undertake a postgraduate program at a prestigious university in the U.S.

MAPFRE has renewed its collaboration with the Cultural, Educational and Scientific Committee between Spain and the United States (Fulbright Committee), which it finances through Fundación MAPFRE and has been supporting since 2013. The agreement reflects a shared desire to strengthen the relationship between Spain and the U.S. and to turn excellent training for young Spanish talent into a vehicle for change in our society.

The scholarships enable students to cover enrollment costs, fees and administration charges, as well as international travel, initial settling in costs, books and living expenses. Students also receive advice on choosing and applying to a university, and are invited to attend orientation sessions in Spain and pre-academic programs in universities other than the one chosen in the United States.

Participation in this agreement between Spain and the United States is one of the many initiatives undertaken by MAPFRE in the USA, where the company has offices in 19 states. MAPFRE collaborates actively with the academic world and has agreements with more than 500 institutions worldwide for students to undertake internships at companies belonging to the Group.

In 2014 the Fulbright Program received the Príncipe de Asturias Award in the International Cooperation category.
