German Institute for Service Quality awards insurance products of the year

Different insurance products were evaluated with regard to innovation and benefits for insurance customers. In the category motor vehicle insurance the product ‘insurance for electric cars’ offered by Verti Versicherung AG became the test winner.

In the documentation of the results of the German Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) this is explained as follows: “With its electric car insurance, Verti Versicherung offers a product at the pulse of time. This provides a high benefit, since it makes sense to insure special risks of an electric car, such as the battery”.

With Verti, thanks to the all risks cover, the battery is protected against all damages, even if they are caused by incorrect operation. The charging cable is also protected against loss or theft. A further important component is the towing of the vehicle in case of empty batteries.

 

Carlos Nagore, Product Director of Verti Versicherung AG, comments on the award: “Our aim was to adapt our product to the needs of electric car drivers in the best way possible. Conventional coverage concepts for vehicles with gasoline or diesel engines often show significant gaps in coverage for electrically powered vehicles. We are closing this gap, also in order to create a further incentive for switching to electric mobility”.
Low-emission driving is being rewarded at Verti: Vehicles with an e-drive or a maximum weight of 2.2 tons that emit less than 110 grams of CO2 per kilometer automatically receive a ten percent CO2 discount on the insurance. Anyone currently considering purchasing an electric vehicle or changing the insurance for their electric car can benefit from an increased CO2 discount of 20 percent with Verti until January 31, 2021.

In July 2020, the German Institute for Service Quality has made inquiries to 161 insurance companies to provide a transparent overview of innovative products on the market. The submitted products were examined in detail by DISQ in cooperation with insurance experts and evaluated on a scale of 0 to 100 with regard to benefits and innovation. Both evaluations were weighted 1:1 for the overall result. At the end of the competition, the products that impressed with a total score of at least 70 points, and were thus rated ‘good’ or ‘better’, were awarded.
